Polokwane Municipality’s Perskebult 30 mega-litre square reservoir remains a major highlight in Corestruc’s long involvement in these projects.
We designed and installed a pre-cast roof structure comprising 320 millimetre hollow core slabs spanning 11 metres (m) to 16 m between grid centres, which are supported by pre-cast pre-stressed I-beams.
The I-beams, in turn, are supported by pre-cast reinforced square and H-columns. Pre-cast, pre-stressed hollow-core slabs were installed between the H-columns to form the baffle walls to direct water into the structure.
We worked alongside Yarena Civils on this project, for which Endecon was the civil and structural engineer.
