We were part of the professional team that helped deliver this impressive project on behalf of Danie Roux Bellegings.
As the main sub-contractor, we worked alongside main contractor, Rokokoto; civil and structural engineers, Avon Engineers; and architect, Francois Cordewener; on this six-month long build.
The building comprises a 1 300 m2 showroom at ground floor level; 1 300 m2 of parking on the first floor and 1 300 m2 of office space on the second floor.
It was built using continuous columns varying between 2,8 metres (m) and 13 m with corbels at the required levels to support the T- and L-beams, of which the longest span was 8,2 m.
Hollow-core slabs, each 220 mm thick, were used at parking level as crash barriers, as well as to support the brick walls at the second level.
